Shells & Amulets vs Talismans
Clams have always been linked to the Goddess Venus and of course her main repesentation; Love.
However the shell itself has always been linked to Hindu, Voodoo, Persians, Incas, Aztecs and the Powhattan tribe. Have you ever wondered what the significance of jewelery made with shells. Consider them like a amulet. For the shell is directly connected with a large part of nature as well as the four elements.
Shells are in the Water, with the help of the Air against the waves that pushes them to the Earth and can with stand burnings inside of it with Fire.
Witches Bottles has been around since the 1600's in England. They are a strong protection device for your home/property.
You can get any glass or ceramic bottle or jar and fill it with pins, broken glass, salt, thorns, garlic, and wax. You would place it some where in your home where it can not be disturbed. Some will put it in thier cleaning supply cabinet all the way in the back or a shelf in the laundry room. Even in the back of you closet.
Membership is $5.99 for a year now !

I am glad I found this website. I have a question that I would like to ask. I am a Earth element and have a hard time grounding myself, which you would think I would be able to do with ease. Not in my case. I have been a Witch for 8 years now and am still unable to do this. Any suggestions or insight?
Try to imagine roots coming up through the earth and slowly wrapping around you. You can also use this technique when you want to pull up some Earth energy. When you are ready to release the energy hold your arms outwards toward the item you which to put energy in or hold them upwards into the air and imagine roots shoot from your arms. Almost like a Spiderman effecting shooting cobwebs.

Finally a website that gives information and help on relevant topics that I can actually relate to and use. While I am here, I have a question and I guess it is more of a personal opinion. Do you consider those who rally to abolish Halloween as modern day Witch hunters?
I never considered them as Witch hunters. Although they do come close to that. I feel that those who try to ban Halloween should just not participate in it and let others decide for themselves if they wish to celebrate it or not. Anyone who tries to infringe on another's liberty to celebrate a holiday should be considered more of a person with thier own insecurites.
Keep in mind there is never just one way of doing things.
The native indians use the shell to burn thier sage in for cleansing. It is a great dual purifier, by using the shell and the sage. As for wearing jewerly that has shells can serve as a connection to nature and power. For shells have been used to hold energy within them. The power of the sea's energy is natually put inside of the shell. Thus giving it a natural energy.
Some people often wonder what is the difference between a amulet and a talisman. To put it quite simply, a Amulet repels, while a Talisman attracts. So if you wish to bring money towards you, then you would use a Talisman. If you wanted to repel negativity, then you would use a Amulet.

A Witches bottle can also protect you from a specific witch. For that you would need some of thier hair or urine. You would place it inside of your jar/bottle with the rest of your items. You can also bury the bottle/jar on your property. The bottle is never to be opened or the protection will loose it's power and you will have to create another one.
As you are filling your bottle, be sure to have a black candle and a white candle lit and place them on the side of your bottle/jar. Be sure you pull up a circle and use sea salt to help with your circle's border. Here is a chant that you can say right before you place the lid on your bottle/jar. Chant it 3 times.
"Between the black, Between the white
equal power, day and night,
hold to protrect, that which is mine
negative energies, shall be bind."
